Related to this is the story of a bear that was shot by one of the president’s comrades during a hunt. When Mr. Roosevelt saw the frightened animal, he ordered it to be released. The whole story was depicted in a comic book and published in a newspaper. Toy makers picked up the story and called the teddy bear “Teddy Bear.” And today, in every toy store, we can come across teddy bears.
